Due to ongoing construction in Oak Harbor, WA that impacted our anticipated course routing, we are working on new routes as quickly as possible.  As soon as they are approved and available they will be updated here.

Thank you for your continued support and patience.

Since this is the Final Event and 10th year for the Run, we are sponsoring a pasta dinner at the NAS Whidbey Island CPO Club on Friday, September 7th from 5-8 pm.  Tickets are $10 each for a dinner buffet.  Buy your tickets on line when you register for the race.

Here's the menu:
Penne Pasta with your choice of meat marinara or alfredo
Marinated Vegetable Salad
Caesar Salad
Garlic Bread
Iced Tea/Water/Coffee

Currently the website only is allowing registered runners to purchase Dinner Buffet tickets.  We want you to come and bring the whole family.  Please email or reach out via the Facebook site and we will make the needed arrangements with you for you group!    Meg's Mom is hoping to have a nice pre-race party!

This race is dedicated to Major Megan McClung (April 14, 1972–December 6, 2006) who was the first female USMC officer killed in combat during the Iraq War. Major McClung was serving as a public affairs officer in Al Anbar Province, Iraq when she was killed.
The city of Oak Harbor, WA and Megan’s mom and brother are hosting this 8th annual run to remember this fallen hero and to raise funds for her fellow Marines and sailors who have been wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.

What else can you do in Oak Harbor?

Temperatures are more moderate on the leeward side of Whidbey Island and may register 5 to 10 degrees warmer than the “official” reading taken at NAS Whidbey Island.

Parking is easily accessed from Pioneer Way and is behind Pioneer Automotive.  The Start/Finish area is easily accessed by a short walk from the parking area.  After the race, access to the vibrant and recently remodeled Pioneer Way with its shops and restaurants is just down the street from the parking area.
